Skilled Nursing
Compassionate nursing and rehabilitation When a person requires more assistance than can be provided at home, it's normal for family members to have many concerns about finding good care. At Good Shepherd Home, we understand these concerns and will work with your family to assure your loved one receives the assistance and attention he or she needs. As you visit the community, you'll see that our nurses, certified nursing assistants, aides and other staff members treat people as they'd like to be treated themselves: with respect and kindness. Working with the guidance of our on-staff medical director, a team of caring staff members develops a plan of care customized to each resident's health requirements and personal preferences.
Memory care
For people who have Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia, Good Shepherd Home provides residential nursing care and memory support in a safe, calming environment. Nurses and nursing assistants receive special training to help them understand the unique needs of memory-impaired residents.
Within the memory care wing, residents participate in a regular schedule of structured group and individual recreation, including music therapy, outdoor walks, snacks and activities designed to stimulate the memory. With secured hallways, a gated patio and shared living and dining areas, residents have plenty of room for self-directed exploration. Our attentive staff get to know each resident individually, so they can customize care to individual preferences and needs, and offer the care, comfort and reassurance these special residents need.
